Empowering women & non-binary artists.
One film at a time.

We Are S I C
A Film Production Organization
We are a student-run organization at the University of Michigan that advocates for the advancement & success of diverse women & non-binary artists in the film, television, & digital media industry.
***
Our mission is to achieve diverse representations on-screen and off by giving marginalized voices a platform to tell their stories and by helping them acquire the skill sets necessary to foster success.

What We Do
What We Do
In addition to hosting screenings, workshops, and guest-speaker events, we produce projects every semester!
Script Call:
Upon completion of application and admission to Sisters in Cinema, there will be a ‘script call’ in which interested members anonymously submit their scripts to SIC.

Crew Call:
After the Executive Board selects scripts, there will be a crew call. Scripts will be sent to the members of SIC, and interested applicants will apply for a position in the directing, producing, camera, art, sound, or editing department, ranking the position and project they would like to work on. Writers whose scripts get chosen will have the opportunity to direct or produce their script, but not both. The Executive Board will take the applicants preferences into consideration and will assign members to projects.
Production
Once projects are assigned to teams, each team or 'crew' will meet weekly to
discuss the production and film.
Post-Production
When filming is complete, the project will go through post-production for editing. Each team is responsible for turning in a finished film at the end of the semester.
PROJECTS
Our finished and fabulous projects will be here soon!
